History of Today's News Herald

Today’s News-Herald and the Parker Pioneer are published by River City Newspapers, LLC, (RCN) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.  RCN is a partnership of Wick Communications, Inc. and Western News and Info., Inc. (formerly Western Newspapers, Inc.). It publishes the 7-day daily Today’s News-Herald in Lake Havasu City, the weekly Parker and a number of other direct mail and specialty publications.

The company was formed Feb. 1, 1995. Initially the company ran the business operations for two competing daily newspapers. Today’s Daily News, owned by Wick, and the Daily Herald, owned by Western. They merged as Today’s News-Herald on Sept. 1, 1995.

RCN was staffed by former employees of both newspapers and ran the advertising, circulation and accounting departments of the two papers. Many of those employees are still at RCN today.

Today the member representatives are Tom Yunt from Wick and Blake DeWittfrom Western.

Mike Quinn was hired as president of the company shortly after the formation of the LLC
