The season of giving was in full force on Sunday afternoon.
Individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations were present during the 14th Annual O’ Christmas Tree Festival. Hosted by Women With Willpower, the nonprofit welcomed supporters to its yearly festive fundraiser. Holiday decor adorned Lake Havasu City’s London Bridge Resort Convention Center.
Sixteen donated Christmas trees donned creatively designed decorations. As in years’ past, each of the trees met a minimum value of $250. Additional raffle baskets also met a minimum value of $100, which president Rhonda Miller says is often surpassed.
Those in attendance were greeted with joy from the nonprofit’s board members. Attendees perused the many Christmas trees and raffle baskets on display. Tree donations were received by individuals and businesses, such as London Bridge Resort and Dillard’s.
Similar to previous years, stories from grant recipients were heard by attendees. Donated checks from Women With Willpower were also awarded to several local organizations. Some of the recipients included CASA Council of Mohave County, Faith and Grace, Inc., and Havasu Community Health Foundation Food Bank. Money received ranged from $3,000 to $4,000. A surprise donation made from London Bridge Resort awarded Women With Willpower with $5,000.
Proceeds from Sunday’s fundraiser will continue to benefit local women facing unexpected financial needs. The funds will also go towards supporting other charitable organizations.
